Fallen Leaves

Autumn flakes of amber
Fall breezes bring them down
Brittle and tender
Spray a fragrance so
Becoming of the season

Golden blankets
Spread thick on the grass
Children run and there is laughter
Like a moment of joy
To roll and play
In the sweet scented mess

Can there be such beauty in death
