Unwilling

And I said goodbye
Not for wanting
Not for ease
Not for another

Only because it was the only open road

I loved him
And love him still
But should one heart climb a mountain
Reach the top alone
Only to descend to the valley where the other awaits
Then both would remain in the valley
Among grass so withered and dead

And now
My heart remains unready
To love again
For who can compare
With the one
Unwilling to climb
