Left Behind

(Today my Oma passed away - at 96 yrs.)


I’ve been told that you’re in Heaven
There’s no more pain for you
Your suffering on this Earth is over
Your living life anew

Jesus has you in his arms
All Heaven rejoices too
But I’m crying today as the angels sing
Because I’m missing you

I know the tears I shed today
Are not the ones you cry
Only tears of joy you bleed
With Jesus by your side

Some may tell me not to grieve
Because you’re in a better place
So understanding that
Should I have a smile on my face

I will laugh again
My grief won’t last
But I’ll not hide the way
I did in the past

I loved you
And now you’re gone
I will find the strength in time
And I will carry one

I’ll think of you fondly
And remember this time
You’re not the one crying
It’s the one left behind
