It wouldn’t be Christmas without You

It’s almost Christmas, Jesus
And I’m left somewhat confused
Thinking what would it be like
If we had Christmas without you

If come December and it all revolved
Around the presents and the food
If there would be no Christmas Spirit
What would be the mood

If Bethlehem had not seen its King
The wise men seen no star
No angels, no shepherds, no Saviour
No gifts come from a far

Would there still be a Santa Claus
Would we still deck out the tree
And shop for gifts and toys and such
Or would Christmas cease to be

Would there be a reason for the season
In our busy, fast paced life
If You had not come, would Christmas Eve
Be just another winter’s night

I see a lot of emptiness
Around this time of year
A lot of pain and anguish
And a lot of grief and fear

It’s in the hearts of people
A coldness through and through
Adults, children everywhere
Having Christmas without you

And what difference have You made
In the lives of those who know
That Christmas goes beyond
The decorations and the snow

Every year, at this time
Can I be a bearer of the truth
That no matter what the world claims
There’ll be no Christmas without you

You’re the reason for the season
You’re the Christ that’s in the name
It’s your birthday celebration
Jesus, You deserve the fame

So Happy Birthday Jesus
And a Merry Christmas too
And may the whole world know
It won’t be Christmas without you
