Young Women of Uganda

Rescued from the bush
Delivered from their doom
Brought back into safety
To a home that still has room

Their arms carry nothing
But babes conceived in grief
Children, girls not eighteen yet
Crying for relief

Abandoned not by God
But by their families
Finding new salvation
Midst a war, they long for peace

Young women of Uganda
Is there victory in your pain
Can the nightmares find a closure
Will your spirits sing again

Can Canada embrace you
A response to meet your need
The hope we take forgranted
Is the hope for which you plead

Young women of Uganda
Your prayers have reached God's throne
Your cries have come to Canada
No more to cry alone
