The Lilacs

Sweet fragrant blossoms of spring
I await their blooming with eager anticipation
The lavender petals open slowly
As the May winds caress their leaves
I pick a bouquet for mother and carefully arrange each stem
Capturing their beauty in a small glass vase
But I know the lilacs will wilt and die
For their beauty doesn't last long

Sweet lilacs
I will remember your fragrance
And will paint the walls of my soul
As lavender in your memory

Sweet grandmother - for so many years
Your fragrance has been etched in my memory
The lavender blossoms of your kindness and love
Have painted the walls of my heart
You sit with me
Shining the beauty of your smile
And the grandeur of your wisdom

But I know the lilacs will wilt and die

Far away and wondering

Far away and wondering
Do you still think of me
Is my memory still clear
Am I still a reality

Or has your mind drifted off
To other matters pending
Sidetracked by your labours
And day to daily spending

Far away and wondering
Should I still think of you
Is there something better
Something more important that I should do

My mind is slowly drifting off
Though you're not all but gone
Distracted by the lesser things
Tell me, what went wrong

Did our friendship ever stand a chance
Did love somehow wilt
Never realized were our dreams
Never touched was what we felt

The Doorstep of Heaven

On the doorstep of heaven stands Jesus' own bride
She looks cross the threshold and sees Him inside

She longs to be in His arms enclosed
Past the doorway to the one she loves the most

But in her beauty she stands there till her Love bids her come
Which He won't do until her time on the doorstep is done

Impatient she grows for she's waited long
Through the days, months and years; for Him, she's been strong

On the doorstep of heaven many battles are faced
The bride fights each one with her Lover's grace

But tears fill her eyes and she cries out, "How long!
I'm suffering now. I'm weak, not strong"

Across the portal, Jesus stretches His hand
He touches his bride and helps her to stand

"Not long, my love, not long at all
But listen well, soon I will call

The bells will ring, the trumpet will blow
I'll come cross the threshold and carry you home"

YOU ARE

YOU ARE
my holiness
YOU ARE
my righteousness
YOU ARE
my healer
YOU ARE
my unending love

YOU ARE - "I AM"

YOU ARE
my redemption
YOU ARE
my salvation
YOU ARE
my strength
YOU ARE
my life and my breath
YOU ARE - "I AM"

When Moses asked you who You were... You told him "I AM"
When the pharisees asked you who You are... You told them "I AM"
When I ask who You will be... You say to me "I AM"

YOU ARE
