Stubborn Heart

Have the tears dried around me
Am I left to weep alone
Do I have a right to grieve
To have a heart of stone
Is my pain any greater
Than those who have gone on
To worship, to see the past as gone
I thought I was convinced
That change was here to stay
So why, when face to face with the change
I can only run away
But I don't want to run
With them I want to stay
Does bitterness grow
Where stubborn hearts wait

Let go

Let go you say
Let go of him
And all I can feel
Is resistance within

Something tells me
He's not coming back
But the strength to let go
Is the strength that I lack

If hope dies inside
What's left to embrace
When reality stares me
Right in the face

I want to believe
What I've hoped for so long
That his love for me
Is not dead and gone

I know you care
You don't want me in pain
You keep telling me that
Again and again

But so foolish I trust
And the pain grows within
I still love so I won't
Let go of him

Still Pray

Still pray for me
Still pray
I’ve turned
Knowing and walked away
But still pray
There is no hopelessness
No vain attempts
Pray and know that your fruit shows
Know that all you’ve done
Will reap a change in heaven
Please
If you love me so much
Still pray

The Arms of Heaven

(I wrote this with an amazing woman in mind. She was 99 when she went to be with Jesus. She is someone I will always remember with a smile on her face and a child like love in her heart. Grandma M. this one's for you.)

In the arms of Heaven I see you embraced
Forever captured in the wellsprings of grace
You’ve been set free from a world of pain
Set free to dance with joy again

I see the Saviour with outstretched hands
Waiting to welcome you into His promised land
Taking your fingers now healthy and whole
To his lips for a kiss for his bride adorned

The whole host of Heaven breaks out in song
"She’s home at last, we’ve waited so long
Praise to the Lord, His mercy is shown
Another lamb here of His very own”

Then over a hill you see them come
Faces remembered one by one
Your loved ones that left, that went on before
Were waiting for you at Heaven’s door

Then the smiles on their faces bring a tear to your eye
There were others that you loved that were left behind
At the sight of your teardrops the Saviour approached
Wiping them gently and holding you close

"You’re home now my child, I’ve brought you here
There’s no room in Heaven for a saddened tear
Your loved ones are safe in my arms today
I have not left them or bid them away
They have my strength to face each tomorrow
Though for a time and a season there will be some sorrow

The comfort in His words brought a smile to your face
That radiated its beauty in the Heavenly place

Now I bid you farewell, but I will see you again
When I join in the dance in the arms of Heaven
